3 Reasons Why You’re Afraid
To Be Yourself
Do you find yourself holding back when it comes to expressing yourself and speaking your truth? Feeling paralyzed by the fear of “what other people might think of you”, how you’re going to look like or what if that which you want to to is not enough or actually too much for other people…
Well, the good news are – YOU’RE NOT ALONE!
This is what the majority of humans struggle with on our planet.
Another good news are is that this is not set in stone and you’re able to stop worrying about other people opinions. Click here if you would like to learn how.
In this post, however, we’re going to look at the actual reasons WHY you’re afraid to be yourself, because only when we have the awareness – this is when we take the first step to shift that.
Also, before we dive in – I want to address that some of you have been suppressing your inner being for SO LONG that at this point you might be feeling something like:
😐 Oh whatever, I’ll just suck it up and continue doing it
😐 I will push myself because that’s what has worked so far
😐 I will just roll as it is, I don’t know another way
😐 Why I should be myself, I don’t want to be vulnerable
How long you’ve been telling this story to yourself?
Avoiding this discomfort…
..but really just creating even more internal discomfort from feeling external pressure that you have to be & do things in a certain way.
So here are top 3 things why you haven’t embraced yourself (yet!):
#1 Survival Need: Desire To Belong
You want to belong.
And our monkey mind associates “belonging” with shedding unique parts of our ourselves away so that we can squeeze ourselves into society made “box of success”.
Now, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to belong and feeling like you’re part of a group, however, if you don’t take conscious charge of the way you think and how you act (not react), you always will be the prisoner of your own mind and conditioning you went through as a child, feeling like there’s something “wrong” with the way you truly are.
(Again, I suggest you check out “Stop Worrying About Other People Opinions” blog post as I go deeper in there about how to undo your past conditioning.
#2 Your Past Experiences Created a Limiting Belief
Your fears and past experiences – are telling you that if you allow yourself the luxury of acting as yourself (as you want), you’ll be punished, laughed at, called “wrong”, because that’s what happened in the past and everything in life always goes the same way, right?
No, not really – one life experience doesn’t determine the outcome of the rest of the similar situations in your life. Our logical mind understands that, but not the subconscious (where all the beliefs are being stored).
Our subconscious is not logical, it learns through taking action and repetition.
How many times you have given yourself an opportunity for a different experience to express yourself?
To fully express yourself and be seen, without the old expectation of being rejected, laughed at or any other limiting belief?
It’s time for you to reprogram your mind and become a conscious creator of your own reality.
You choose who you are.
#3 Lack Of Self-Trust & Self-Acceptance
You don’t accept/trust/love/respect/ (insert anything about self/ yourself) – you’re focused so much on the outside world & all the things that everybody else has (and for some weird reason you think you also supposed to have it) that you completely ignore what have you done & achieved yourself.
Humans are amazingly good and overrating the things everyone else is able to do and amazing good at underating what we are capable of, ourselves.
If for once you would stop giving a flying shoe about the stuff everybody else has and what everybody else have achieved – you would have the brain capacity and time to actually look at yourself and realize that you have achieved incredibly a LOT.
If you don’t have a sense of self-wroth – it will be extremely challenging for you to stop being afraid to be yourself and show up as your true self, because you don’t see & acknowledge that your inner being actually possesses value. So you have to focus on yourself and get to know YOU.
(Yes, of course, you can “man up” and be like “I don’t give a sh*t” and try to show up as confident, but that’s also not you – that ‘s you falling into your ego and we don’t want that either).
Repeat After Me:
“I CHOOSE TO EXPRESS MYSELF,
IT IS SAFE TO BE MYSELF”
🔥Finally, embrace what a freaking badass YOU ARE!🔥
And I’m not saying this just to sound inspiring, but because I know you are!
You turned yourself from the Source pure consciousness into a physical human body –
that’s some badassery right here!
It’s not your fault that you were born into this paradigm and went through limited conditioning. You are not your limited conditioning, in fact – this limited conditioning is what will help your inner being to go to the next level of mastery!
If you want to better understand who you truly are as a BEING – go check out this video with a message from the higher consciousness.
You are beautiful, you are amazing and it’s always safe to be yourself.
You just have to allow yourself to believe in this.
I would love for you to leave a comment – how does this make you feel?
Are you ready to let go of self-imposed and limits of society?
